DEMFI operates a climate prediction market platform that allows users to:
- Participate in climate and weather-related prediction challenges
- View probability calculations derived from 12 Numerical Weather Prediction (NWP) models
- Take positions on climate outcomes using $DEMFI tokens
- Access climate data and forecast analysis tools
Eligibility
To use our services, you must:
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement
- Not be located in a jurisdiction where participation in prediction markets is prohibited
Wallet Connection & Account
To participate in prediction markets, you must connect a compatible blockchain wallet. You are responsible for:
- Maintaining the security of your wallet and private keys
- All activities conducted through your connected wallet
- Ensuring you have sufficient funds for transactions and gas fees
Prediction Markets
When participating in DEMFI prediction markets, you acknowledge that:
- Outcomes are determined by verified weather observation data
- Probabilities are calculated from NWP models and may not reflect actual outcomes
- Your participation involves financial risk, and you may lose your entire investment
- DEMFI does not guarantee any returns or profits from market participation
$DEMFI Token Disclaimer
The $DEMFI token is a utility token used within the platform. You acknowledge that:
- The token is not a security, investment contract, or financial instrument
- Token value may fluctuate and you may lose part or all of your investment
- DEMFI makes no guarantees regarding the future value or utility of the token
Intellectual Property
All content on the DEMFI platform, including text, graphics, logos, data, software, and NWP model integrations, is the property of DEMFI or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our prior written consent.
Prohibited Activities
You agree not to:
- Use our services for any illegal purpose or in violation of any laws
- Attempt to manipulate prediction market outcomes
- Use automated systems (bots) to interact with the platform without authorization
- Interfere with or disrupt the platform's security or infrastructure
- Impersonate another person or entity
Disclaimers
Our services are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.
Weather forecasts and probability calculations are provided for informational purposes. DEMFI is not responsible for the accuracy of NWP model outputs or weather observation data from third-party sources.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, DEMFI shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or blockchain assets, arising out of or relating to your use of our services.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless DEMFI, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising out of your use of the services or violation of these Terms.
Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to our services at any time, without prior notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users, us, or third parties.
Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the British Virgin Islands, without regard to its conflict of law principles.
Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be effective upon posting to the website. Your continued use of the services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
